Episode 1 – Victorian Belle Mansion

Join us as we take you on a Victorian Belle Mansion venue tour. And, just like that, NW Wedding Underground has become a real thing. Not just a random idea in my head. And, although I don’t yet feel natural in front of a video camera, Jovana Combs Beauty made us both look like superstars with her hair and makeup magic!

Victorian Belle Mansion Venue Tour

In this feature, some of our favorite wedding vendors have come together to show off their talents at one of our favorite venues, Victorian Belle Mansion! Angela & I interview Taylor, the wedding director at the mansion, and we hunt for bunnies in the yard. She takes us on a tour of the grounds, and then we chat with each vendor. Taylor is so much fun. She’s definitely someone you would love having around on your wedding day. Watch our first feature to get an in depth look at the grounds of the mansion as well as to meet the awesome vendors who collaborated with us.

Why Book Your Wedding At The Mansion?

This is seriously one of our favorite venues in all of Portland, which is why we wanted to feature it first! It’s the perfect amount of quirky and beautiful, has lush landscaping, and come on, who doesn’t love a million twinkle lights?! Perfect photo recipe right there. Add in some vibrant colors, and you’ve got the perfect setting for us!

Here are some reasons we love this venue:

It’s a photographer’s dream. There is so much variety for photo backdrops, and the light filters through the trees in the prettiest way.

You have dozens of options for how to arrange the flow of your day. There are literally dozens of locations you could set up your ceremony. Or your cocktail hour. Or your reception dinner. Or your bar. Or you can utilize all the areas and really let your guests feel at home!

Again, who doesn’t love millions of twinkle lights? This venue does it right with the lights. It’s so romantic.

All the food we’ve had there, prepared by the executive chef, is drool worthy.

The event director is cheerful and helpful.

It’s freakin adorable, and beautiful, and quirky.

Cheerful Color Scheme & Decor

We knew we wanted bright and colorful decor, so we finally decided upon jewel tones – specifically yellow, orange, magenta, & turquoise, with gold accents. Floral Sunshine killed it with the floral arrangements. But I mean, with a name like Floral Sunshine, you sort of just expect “cheerful”!

Rose’s Rentals brought in their hand-built octagonal arbor, which was just stunning against the garden. They also set up the reception area with lots of magenta, turquoise, and gold touches from their inventory. They have linens, floral containers, dishware, tables, chairs… pretty much everything. Oh! And they even brought their huge collection of LED candles to create a ring of light around the bride and groom for their first dance.

The Cake Room created a ridiculously gorgeous cake. I could have stared at all the intricate details all day. I loved how it pulled in aspects of the Victorian style.

All About The Beauty

Let’s give another shout out to Jovana Combs of Jovana Combs Beauty. She not only did makeup and hair for Angela & myself, but also for the bride. She even styled the groom. I felt like I was glowing, and I was sad to wash my face at the end of the night!

Speaking of the bride, she wore the sweetest dress from Blue Sky Bridal PDX. If you look closely, you can see the lining of the dress is a baby pink. It was so pretty!
