PRINDLE MOUNTAIN OVERLOOK VENUE TOUR

Prindle Mountain Overlook is a private home with over 5 acres of open space atop a mountain in Washougal, WA. On clear days there are breathtaking views of Cape Horn, Crown point, Portland, and Vancouver. The venue is situated overlooking the gorge on the Washington side, directly across from Multnomah Falls. It is only 20 minutes away from Beacon Rock. The venue also boasts a flower farm! Madi & Kim make up the mother-daughter team behind this venue and its vision. Madi says, “Obviously our view is incomparable. But the heart of our company is my mom and me. Between the two of us, we have worked nearly every angle of the wedding industry and are a great resource for any overwhelmed couple needing advice or a helping hand.”

WHY BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT PRINDLE MOUNTAIN OVERLOOK?

If the sweeping views of the gorge aren’t enough to win your heart, you’re crazy. But if you need more persuading, there are lots of other reasons to book your wedding here! While there is plenty of space for up to 200 guests, the venue also lends itself well for smaller more intimate events. There is an outdoor kitchenette that overlooks the gorge as well, perfect for hosting a reception dinner with a view. The venue recently added 2 custom-built getting-ready cabins for the wedding party to prep and have a private space. There are also two outdoor bathrooms for you and your guests. Plenty of parking is also available. During the right seasons, you also have the option to support the flower farm and get stunning fresh and local blooms. They even have a few vintage vehicles that you can use as part of your wedding decor.

HERE ARE SOME REASONS WE LOVE THIS VENUE:

Madi & Kim strive to offer an affordable option while also allowing couples lots of creative freedom in designing their perfect day in the space.

Of course, the view is spectacular. Anyone looking for sweeping views of the gorge will love this venue.

While the views in the front of the property are breathtaking, there is also a very lovely and lush are in the back of the property with forest vibes. It’s a perfect spot for dinner under the trees or a transition space between the ceremony and reception. There are several other yard spaces around the home as well, which offer lots of variety for setting up different activities.

It’s truly hidden away and feels very untouched, but still so close to the metropolitan areas. It is extra quiet and serene because of its remote location.

ALL ABOUT THE VISION

Prindle Mountain Overlook looks out over the gorge from the Washington side. We know the sunsets over the gorge
are some of the most gorge-ous, so we chose our rich color palette to mirror sunset colors. We wanted the main
color focus to be orange, with hints of deep pinks, purples, yellows, and dark blues. We also wanted to mimic the
round sun, by incorporating round elements and circles into our design.

When looking at tableware settings from Setting The Table Rentals, we were drawn to the retro stoneware plates that already used a lot of our colors as well as our circle theme, and decided from there to take the decor in a retro direction. We decided to call the style of the shoot retro vintage eclectic.

ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS

We wanted to highlight different areas of the venue, not just the main overlook space that they have. They have a
gorgeous grove of large trees in the back of the property, so we decided to set the reception dinner space there.

We chose a dark natural wood table, custom-built and rented from Country Garden Tables, to match the natural woodsy vibe. The pops of orange and colors from our palette really made the reception set-up stand out against the background of greenery. We rented chairs that matched in color from The Party Pros. They also provided us with some pretty linen napkins, which also helped add some definition and depth to the table set.

The amazing florist, Scarlet Blooms, hung stems of flowers over the table, which gave a playful and unexpected look. Our planner, Ash Does Events, handmade the table runner that used hundreds of paper circles, arranged in an ombre effect to mimic sunset colors in the sky.

The Fresh Hues designed all of the signage and did all of the calligraphy work. Much of our signage was printed on circular acrylic, and handpainted in a similar ombre way, with a retro font. Small terra-cotta colored planters with succulents were used as the guest favors as well as for guest seating assignments.

MORE DETAILS

For the ceremony spot, we wanted to choose a less expected area, so we set up in the front lawn, overlooking a
small grove of trees with the gorge in the background. We rented a circular arbor from The Party Place, to fit with the round theme, and loaded it with tons of flowers in our array of colors.

We then set up the cake and cocktail table at the venue’s official overlook spot, and it really popped against the blue skies. The cake, designed by Bite Me Cookies & Treats, incorporated a ton of circles in our palette, and our planner made round pinwheels to attach to the trees flanking either side of the space. Our retro stoneware cake plates had a circular design on them. Tequila sunrise and aperol spritz were our signature cocktails, both matching the orange palette.

The venue also offers a couple of vintage vehicles. For this shoot, we used their vintage milk truck and made it into
the welcome area and gift station. Our balloon artist, Marley Jo Balloon Co, completely covered it in balloons to match the color scheme… and of course, balloons are round, which matched our circular sun theme!

ALL ABOUT THE BEAUTY

Finally, our models are a real-life married couple who drove in from the Oregon Coast for the shoot. Our wardrobe
stylist, Bollyhood St., found them some vintage-inspired ties, also playful and eclectic, and matched them in varying tones of orange and grays. Hope you’ve enjoyed reading about this Prindle Mountain Overlook venue tour!
