YE OLDE TINY CHAPEL VENUE TOUR
When Roger and Martha, owners of Ye Olde Tiny Chapel reached out to me about featuring their adorable space, I couldn’t wait! These two are all about neighborhood vibes, staying local, and supporting small business. So, what is Ye Olde Tiny Chapel? It is a backyard AirBnB and elopement courtyard in the Alberta Arts District! And it couldn’t be more perfect for couples looking for a tiny unique Portland-esque elopement. You can even choose from a variety of characters to officiate your ceremony. There’s Bigfoot, The Dude, a Clone Trooper, or a Catholic Priest to choose from. Speaking of which, Roger is the in-house officiant!
WHY BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT YE OLDE TINY CHAPEL?
If you’re looking to elope in Portland, this is an all-in-one, one-stop-shop for you! A full-time AirBnb by day, and an elopement courtyard by night (so to speak). Martha and Roger have poured a ton of love and energy in to the space to make it beautiful and convenient. It’s just a block off of bustling Alberta St. which is packed with unique shops, bars and restaurants.
The lush courtyard provides all the basics for a lovely backdrop. In addition, there is a gorgeous rustic ceremony backdrop, a jute runner with custom made lanterns to line the aisle, and a variety of patio furniture for lounging or displaying other items (like a cake!). Martha even has some lavender floral arrangements you can use for the backdrop doors and as a bouquet. Looking to customize it a bit further? That’s possible too! You can bring in your own vendors as you wish to help create the vision of your dreams. Or you can keep it simple and just get married in this already gorgeous space!
HERE ARE SOME REASONS WE LOVE THIS VENUE:
This is one of the cutest Tiny AirBnb homes we’ve ever seen. And they built it themselves! It has a great layout, lovely light, and perfect Portland decor.
The courtyard is super inviting and relaxing. They’ve made a true oasis in their backyard, and it’s hard to leave once you get settled in!
Martha & Roger are the sweetest, most accommodating hosts. They are friendly and have tons of connections and recommendations about what to do in the neighborhood and beyond.
They have pretty much everything you need to get married. Roger is even an officiant, and more than happy to dress up in whatever character you choose to perform the ceremony! The only thing you really need is your own attire and maybe some rings?
ALL ABOUT THE VISION
For this shoot, we wanted to bring in some warm but dusty colors to pop against all the rustic elements. Flowers by Alana created some amazing floral pieces focusing on pops of peach and dusty purples. Bite Me Cookies and Treats made us the cutest little cutting cake decorated in macarons and flowers. Setting the Table Rentals provided us with matching dessert plates and serving ware, a cake stand, candle holders, and a gold rimmed glass champagne chiller.
ALL ABOUT THE BEAUTY
Finally, our models are a real life couple who live in the neighborhood and were more than happy to help bring this vision to life. Our hair and makeup stylist, Gretchen, also lives just a couple blocks away from the venue! She works out of NW21 Salon, but also loves providing exclusive beauty services to brides on their big day!
