Ainsworth House & Gardens Venue Tour

Nov 8, 2019

Join NwWU hosts, Crystal Genes Photography & Angela Holm Photography, as we take you on an Ainsworth House & Gardens venue tour. Not only do we love this venue, but our color palette for the decor was purple and magenta… two of Crystal’s all time favorite colors. And the result was spectacular.

Ainsworth House & Gardens Venue Tour

In this feature, some of our favorite wedding vendors have come together to show off their talents at one of our favorite venues, Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City, just a short drive south of Portland! Angela & Crystal interview Kevin, the venue owner, and he gives the best impression of Bigfoot that you’ve ever heard. He takes us on a tour of the grounds, and then we chat with each vendor. Kevin has an adorable English accent (he says so himself, but it’s true!), and he even officiates a third of the weddings held at the house. Watch our second episode to get a closer look at the expansive property as well as to meet the talented vendors who collaborated with us.

Why Book Your Wedding At Ainsworth House?

Ainsworth House & Gardens has it all, and more! There is not only a ton of visual variety on the grounds, they also provide lots of options for decor as part of all packages, and they even include a full service wedding coordinator to make your vision come to life.

Chairs, tables, linens, napkins, drapery, and even chair covers are available in a variety of color options.

Here are some reasons we love this venue:

It’s gorgeous. Every single part of it.

The show stopper is the giant heritage pine tree which is the most popular spot on the property to hold the wedding ceremony. It’s over 150 years old! But, aside from that, there is the main house (50 years older than the state of Oregon), with a gorgeous front porch, and several rooms for not only getting ready, but for your closest family to hang out during prep. And the getting ready rooms are equally beautiful.

There is a separate conservatory building with tons of natural light that has a room for dinner, as well as a room for the party, with a bar, grand piano, and black and white tile floor. The dinner room has heated floors, and a separate heating/cooling system, so grandma can stay toasty while the dancing room stays cool! The dinner room has huge windows, or a fireplace area which both work great for framing an indoor ceremony.

You don’t have to decide until the day of the event if you want your wedding indoors or outdoors. They’ll make sure it’s all arranged for you once you do decide. And if you do choose to get married outdoors in less than perfect weather, they even have astro turf they will put down to keep mud at a minimum.

Every inch of the landscaping has been well thought out, and there are sweet sculptures hidden throughout each area.

There are no corkage fees, and you can bring in your own catering.

About This Feature

We decided on a purple and magenta color palette for this shoot, and it turned out beautifully.

Robyn Hunter, of Arranged for You Floral Events & Songbird Floristry provided jaw dropping florals. Robyn loves celebrating seasonal PNW blooms, and the majority of the flowers were grown on her own flower farm.

Krystle Allen, of Krystle Clear Events, helped pull everything together and coordinated the styling and set up of the vendors and shoot. She is one of Ainsworth’s in-house wedding planners, and she is awesome! She works all over the area, so even if you’re not getting married at Ainsworth, you should still give her a call!

Monica Smith, of The Pastry Smith, created the most adorable cake we’ve ever seen. What made it so adorable? It had little round marionberry pop-tarts peeking out around the florals. And they were the best pop-tarts I’ve had in my life.

Hannah Rose, of Rose’s Rentals, helped us out for all things rentals. She also helped us with our first Episode at Victorian Belle Mansion because she’s just that awesome! Be sure to check out that episode as well to see her full interview.

All About The Beauty

Tracy Schulz, of Tracy Does Makeup, not only did makeup & hair for the bride, but also for Angela & myself. We felt like movie stars! Tracy is the sweetest, and she’s had not one, but FOUR billboards in Times Square NYC. Woah! She really knows what she’s doing.

Our gorgeous bride model was Reme Fields. She wore a dress from Adorned in Grace Bridal. Adorned in Grace sells new and gently used wedding dresses and other attire. What’s great about their company is their mission is to raise awareness and funds for the prevention of human trafficking, and support for survivors.
