When we were planning this feature, I perused Monica’s website to see all her yummy creations. When I saw that she makes pop-tarts, I was in love, and immediately wished we could do pop-tarts instead of a wedding cake. But then I got the best news! She was already planning to add pop-tarts to the cake she was designing for us!
And that is sort of what The Pastry Smith is all about. Creating elevated nostalgic treats like pop-tarts and toaster strudels, finding ways to create any dessert or cake from your dreams (or your grandma’s lost recipes), and making them beautiful and tasty enough to merge seamlessly into a wedding fit for a queen.
She loves all things vintage and has the cutest style and aesthetic. You can often find her at farmers markets wearing a vintage apron with a table display full of her desserts on vintage plates and platters.
Monica is based in Oregon City, but will deliver her treats all around the Portland area, and you can make an order through her website.
MONICA’S TIP FOR ALL COUPLES
Stay true to you and your partner when creating your wedding day. Don’t feel like you need to please everyone. If you love peanut butter and jelly cake, get a peanut butter and jelly cake! It’s your big day, it’s all about you, and you should let your personality shine through.
