The Griffin House Venue Tour

Feb 13, 2021

Join NwWU host, Crystal Genes Photography, for our tenth feature, “The Griffin House Venue Tour” as she chats with Marlowe Griffin, one of the owners of The Griffin House. The Griffin House sits atop the cliffs of the Columbia Gorge and has been family owned for 30 years. Watch the episode to see The Griffin House venue tour.

THE GRIFFIN HOUSE VENUE TOUR

In this feature, some amazing wedding vendors have come together to present their talents at the beautiful Griffin house.

We chat with the owner and family member Marlowe Griffin, about the space and what makes it so special. Our bride flaunts a gorgeous gown from Adorned in Grace, a local non-profit bridal dress shop. A team of some of our favorite wedding vendors has come together in this episode to give you a front seat in the action and show off what they do best!

We also get to work with Angela Hoyt of Bridge City Blooms. Once again her floral creations steal the show. The Dream Co. provided the delicious cake and dessert. Shirey Bukowski provided us with one of my favorite additions, The Swig Rig, a unique and adorable mobile bar, housed by a vintage trailer.

We get the opportunity to work with the talented Jamie Ta, of Jamie Ta Creative, to coordinate and style the shoot. We went with a summertime feel with accents of colorful citrus, channeling vibes from the Amalfi Coast.

The beautiful blue vintage china came from Setting the Table Rentals. If you need vintage and unique tableware for your event, you must check them out. They have goblets in every color and size you can imagine, bowls and stands, and other unique items.

The wood table and benches, as well as the linens came from The Party Place. I don’t know what Portland would do without these guys… there’s not a shoot that we do that they don’t have something we need!

And this time we even got a few specialty items from Riverhood Rentals in Hood River. They have a fun collection of vintage wooden boxes and other decor items.

All About the Visuals

Dane Casperson, of Casperson Productions, joined us once again to capture the day on film and helped coordinate the vendor interviews. His video work is truly stunning.

Blue Bonsai Printing designed a gorgeous invitation suite for our theme. And Letters and Dust provided us with the fun cocktail bar sign as well as the calligraphy for all the fruit place settings.

Katya Lapierre worked her magical make-up skills on the bride and also did her hair as well. Katya is quite literally a jack of all trades! Emma Rose with Emma Brooke Jewelry provided the beautiful earrings and necklace worn by the bride.

Finally, Portland Party Platters made us a very attractive fruit and cheese board to show off for “cocktail hour”. The citrus and honey theme was perfect.

Watch our tenth episode to get a closer look at the wonderful views of the venue and meet the talented team who collaborated with us.

Leah Kennedy, the owner of The Dream Co. provided the cake and dessert treats for this event. She mimicked the delicate design from the china plates onto the cake flawlessly. Leah specializes in personalized hand-made confections using scratch based ingredients. She believes that her creations should not only look divine but taste as good as they look.

The Swig Rig was such a great addition to this event! Its retro style and unique concept fit into the event like the perfect puzzle piece. The Swig Rig rental includes a 2-keg kegerator, licensed bartenders, equipment set up and takedown, and more. It offers the couples signature cocktail, beer, wine, espresso, and even ice cream floats!

We got to know Jamie Ta, the owner of Jamie Ta creative and instantly fell in love with her upbeat personality. She is so personable and bubbly, we really had a fun time working together. Jamie is very efficient and communicative with vendors, so you really don’t have to stress about much. She really tries to have her clients involved in the process as much as possible and have their voices heard.

ALL ABOUT THE BEAUTY

Katya Lapierre did both the hair and make-up for the bride. Katya believes in an eco-friendly approach to her make-up and hair artistry. She uses safe for skin products that are comfortable and last throughout the day or event- its a win-win for all! Katya wants your day to be as stress free as possible by offering services to small parties and up to 20 or more people! If needed, she arranges and onboards other local artists she trusts and can offer suggestions for suitable get-ready areas.

Adorned in Grace provided a beautiful dress for the bride. Adorned in Grace is Portland’s only non-profit bridal shop, sourcing dresses from all over the country.
